Notebook makers see on-month decline in January shipments, says paper

Top-tier notebook makers Quanta Computer, Compal Electronics, Wistron, Pegatron Technology and Inventec all saw on-month declines in their January shipments with Wistron suffering an over 20% drop, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report citing figures from Barclays Capital.

Quanta shipped 3.8 million notebooks in January, down 10% on month; Compal shipped 2.4 million units, down 9% on month; Wistron shipped 2.5 million units, down 22% on month; Pegatron shipped 1.1 million units, down 4% on month; and Inventec shipped 1.2 million units, down 11% on month, the paper noted.
