Compal Electronics on November 10 reported consolidated revenues of NT$56.232 billion (US$1.86 billion) for October, rising 3.57% on month but dipping 27% on year.

Compal's January-October consolidated revenues stood at NT$554.669 billion, dropping 23.09% on year%.

Compal shipped 3.2 million notebooks, 400,000 LCD TVs, and 250,000 tablet PCs in October, the company indicated. Compal expects its overall shipments in the fourth quarter to fall 5-10% sequentially Notebook shipments are expected to increase 20% in 2012.

The shortage of hard disk drives due to flooding in Thailand will impact ODM's notebook shipments in January and February 2012, Compal indicated.
