Semiconductor-related products comprising discrete and analog components, and the 6-inch IC foundry segment, accounted for more than 80% of company revenues in November, while the remaining 18% was contributed by modular system products, Lite-On Semi revealed.
Discrete components continued to play the largest contributor to Lite-On Semi's sales in November 2011, but saw revenues decline 26.7% from a year ago. The segment registered flat sales growth on a sequential basis.
Lite-On Semi indicated the company will expand its MOSFET portfolio in 2012 to offer a full lineup of discrete components for power supplies.
Meanwhile, November sales of Lite-On Semi's analog IC-related products including power conversion chips, ambient light sensors and proximity sensors dropped 8.4% sequentially, but grew 2.9% from a year earlier.
Ambient light/proximity sensors for smartphones and tablets enjoyed impressive sales growth of 33.8% on year and 5.9% on month in November, Lite-On Semi noted.
For the foundry business, revenues decreased 9.2% sequentially but climbed 34.5% on year in November. Modular system products including contact image sensors and power modules for LED lighting saw revenues decline 9.2% sequentially in November.
